Water Treatment Chemicals for Power Plants

Captive and co-generation power plants lose output when boilers scale or condensers foul. We supply programmes for boiler and condensate protection, condenser cooling towers, and the RO units that feed DM plants.

What we measure

Water Parameters We Watch

The readings that matter most in power generation plants — tracked from your first analysis through monthly reviews.

  • Dissolved oxygenOxygen in feed water causes pitting in economisers, drums and tubes.
  • Condensate pH & conductivityLow pH or rising conductivity signals corrosion or contamination in the return line.
  • SilicaSilica carried over with steam can deposit on turbine blades in higher-pressure units.
  • Condenser approach & back-pressureThe quickest sign that condenser tubes are scaling or fouling.
  • Cooling water scaling index & countsLSI and microbial counts tell us whether scale or biofilm is building.
Common problems

What We Solve

  • Condenser back-pressureScale and biofilm on condenser tubes reduce vacuum and generation efficiency.
  • Boiler tube failuresOxygen pitting and deposits are leading causes of forced outages.
  • Condensate line corrosionLow-pH condensate corrodes return lines; amine-based pH control protects the whole circuit.
  • RO / DM foulingFouled membranes push more load onto DM resins and raise chemical regeneration cost.

Why Power Plants Work with Kranti Water

  • Programmes for both captive power and process-steam boilers
  • Baseline water data collected before trials, so results can be measured
  • Monthly water quality logs and quarterly performance reviews
Questions

Power Generation FAQ

How does cooling water treatment affect power plant heat rate?

Scale and biofilm on condenser tubes raise back-pressure, so the turbine produces less power from the same steam and fuel. Keeping tubes clean is one of the cheapest ways to protect heat rate.

Do you treat captive and co-generation boilers?

Yes. We set oxygen scavenger, pH and internal treatment for your operating pressure, and track feed water, boiler water and condensate in monthly logs.

Can you treat condensers cooled by seawater?

Yes — seawater is one of our specialist areas. See our seawater and high-salinity treatment page for once-through and seawater cooling tower programmes.
